The human search for something - an ultimate truth, reveals itself as nothing. Upon this realization, we become fearful, coping by distracting ourselves from this pure truth: I am an anonymous + insignificant particle of stardust in the middle of no where. We cope with this by creating a complex network of eternally malfunctioning systems, illusively perceiving symbols of universally profound meaning. This is the lie that gives us a sense of purpose, a sense of hope, a sense of existence. Even if you do amount to “something” in time, history will forget you. The ones who strive for a legacy are the ones who desperately fear their own nothingness; their ego severely seeking external validation + valour from their peers. They actively demand the world reflect back to them an image proving there is something to their existence, yet they are fooled by their own mirage.Â
Our fear; uncomfortable, so we hide ourselves in futile pursuits from the existential crisis that death is our only future, being forgotten is our legacy and our being is nothingness. Take it for what it is because measurement is an arbitrary game, there is still beauty in this life.Â
