Being alive again was great. It wasn't easy but he wouldn't trade it for anything. He had moments when he forgot things though. He had been dead a long time. He sort of... Forgot the rules? It was stupid but it was true.

The night before it had started raining, Ben had always loved the rain so he had gone outside and reveled in being able to feel the rain on his skin. He was glad he had been alone before he had started crying it had been so overwhelming. He had stayed in the rain for hours.

Diego grips the umbrella even tighter in his hand as the wind tried ripping it from him. It had been storming for a good hour now, and Diego was over it. Another gust of wind made him glance up to be sure the umbrella wasn’t going to turn or go flying, and he catches a glimpse of something. A super thin figure of sorts. He walks over, and calls out.

ASK: “just get in there and outshine everyone.” [from phasingal!]

Klaus tilted his head towards the woman, leaning against the counter as he listened to people sing karaoke. He knew he could outshine the people singing right now, but he decided against it. He was just here to drown out the ghosts in his mind, something he did often.

“Ah, I wouldn’t want to ruin their fun,” he said with wave of his hand in their direction before tipping back another shot.

He let his head rest on his hand, studying Gal before asking, “Do you karaoke?”

           The look Gal gave him was clearly of someone caught off-guard. That… was not something she’d ever stopped to consider. For a few seconds, she stared at the stage where people were singing their hearts out, waited for an emotional connection to spark, and got nothing.

           “Yeah,I’ll bet”, Dave agreed, with a wince of sympathy. Honestly, who could blamehim? Withdrawal was hard enough without adding stupid expectations of what itwas supposed to look like on top of it (not that he’d ever gone through ithimself, but, just by looking at Klaus, it was clear this was taking its tollon him). Carefully, Dave sat down at the edge of the bed, reached out tosqueeze a bony shoulder through the blankets, then held the back of his hand toKlaus’ forehead. He was running hot, but not feverish. Not yet, anyway.

   “Yeah, and who’s FUCKING fault is that? Don’t swear at me like that Klaus, it makes me feel ICKY. I was worried.”

Diego was expecting something left field from his brother, but this time was pleasantly surprised. He gives a warm smile, and pulls Klaus into a hug.

“I love you too. You’re one nutty bastard but I love you.”
