Seeded Crackers
- with wholemeal floor, seesam and flaxseedsÂ
Crispy, seedy and delicious wholemeal crackers, that never fail to impress. One of my favorite snack option. They are Also a great addition for a brunch, picnic or tapas evening. They are easy to make and I tend to have all of the ingredients in my cupboard anyways.
You can ofcourse try the recipe with other seeds or crushed nuts. And you can alls play around with different spices. For example adding some cardamom and/or cinnamon for a sweater cracker or pepper and/or herbs for a savory option.
Approx. 20 crackers.
Ingredients:
75g wholemeal flour
75g plain white flour
2 tbs sesamseedsÂ
1 tbs flaxseedsÂ
1/2 tsp saltÂ
1/2 tsp bakingpowder
1-2 tbs vegetableoil
1/2-1 dl milk (dairy or plantmilk)
1 egg (or plantmilk)
Method
Preheat your oven to 180℃
In a bowl, combine all the dry ingredients.
Then add the oil and milk and knead it till it forms a dough. I allways start with adding 1/2 a dl of milk and then adding more if needed.
Roll the dough as thin as possible using a rolling pin. Cut it in to the desired shape. and transfer on to a lined tray. you might have to do this in multiple batches.
Two or three times each cracker with a fork.
Beat the egg and brush a thin layer on each cracker and drizzle some coarse salt and seeds.
Bake for 15-20 min or until golden.
Let the crackers cool completely, on a cooling rack, before transferring them into an airtight container.
They are tast great on their own, however, I like to have them eigther diped in to hummus or with chease.
EnjoyÂ
