I was thinking I would be the leading force but it seems I would be the poet instead.
Rough translation of my latest poem.
At morning awaken me
Once the bombs quiet down
At morning awaken me
To hear birds I desire.
People, listen to songs
Be yourselves like the birds,
For them there's no locks,
Only freeing wind.
Oh, to find the spring and to wash
The face of the planet.
I remember how I was thirteen.
Didn't know no war and no fear.
Only knew the love and desire,
Will to learn was here.
I was thirteen.
Now I'm seventeen.
The riffles still howl.
Only thing that's free is a cot at medbay.
Even they are taken.
With the riffles the wolves are howling
Now I know they hide behind seven locks.
Now I'm seventeen.
In a month I turn eighteen.
Get to college. All doors are open.
They lead to cemetery
Or to block before bucket.
In a month I turn eighteen.
What then I don't think, don't want to.
Once you move and they know,
They're coming. No money to run
No money to run — wolves ate everything.
No tomorrow — and yet birds sing.
How I wish they never go quiet.
