“Will you help me?”
there’s little debate that could possibly take place, when petitioned in such a way. he always has a choice, but – there isn’t any part of him any longer that would consider denying his assistance wherever it is required by those in need. he’s very far gone, and very much the jumble of emotional misfirings that cyberlife detests in their androids. wants and desires crossing paths with selflessness, crossing even further paths with kindness and even hope. he stops mid-step, facing her with brows raised.
‘ anything, ’ – and he means it, voice even not by any guidance from his social interaction programming but by choice: the choice to hear her out, to listen, to know what she needs and to act accordingly. it is all he can offer her, after the part he was made to play during their last interaction. he had refused to take part in their creator’s game, yes – but there had been a span of seconds where he’d wondered, where he’d felt the instinct to follow through with his mission.
he’s thankful now more than ever for gaining the ability to refuse certain directives. looking into her eyes now gives him the same confounding rush of emotions it had before; he’s overwhelmed by the knowledge that she is certainly someone grand, and someone who, at least for a moment, needs him. who is he to refuse?
‘ what do you need, chloe? ’ / @seekself. meme tag (always accepting).
