Kattigan might be in for a relapse if he does indeed have a history with alchohalism. (I think that is still a question. His father was definitely an alcoholic) Mainly because he learned who was responsible for his family dying and that will cause him to relive the moment that his family died more since it is on top of mind and that will affect his emotionam state. Also, Teor just died and he was good friends with him.
It's probably good that he just left the city and he won't be a schemer. Kattigan loves the wilds more anyways and it would be easier to aquire alcohol in the city. Also, the Schemers tend to retire by themselves every night.
I suspect Thimble and Julien are going to be good for him. They are both vets and probably have experience with helping others deal with it. Thimble might have less experience with it but she is wiser than Julien and already has a little bit of built up connection with Kattigan.
I suspect that Tyranny would have been perfect for him. She would have been a stabilizing figure for him especially if she asked him to stop drinking with his fraternal attitude towards her and how compassionate she is.
