Ned drummed his fingers against the table, lost in his thoughts. It had been an entire semester since Cedric had been home, an entire semester since Cedric had told them the truth. He seemed to be the only one shocked and unhappy with the truth. It had led to arguments between him and Catelyn. It grew to the point where neither could speak to the other about it without bringing an argument upon them. Ned had stated that he would not treat Cedric differently, that everything would be fine. With Cedric's birthday quickly approaching as well, he was going to be a legal adult in the wizarding world. If only a war wasn't on top of them.

"Your seventh year is over, one more year and then you're finished." Ned looked at Cedric, just the two of them sitting together in their family room. "How do you feel about it?"

long story short : basically whatever floats your boat, as long as it doesn’t effect him. there are exceptions to that —basically anything non-consensual or with a child ( keeping in mind modern cutoff age & medieval cutoff age for childhood are different ) or anything just downright creepy. he has loose morals, but not that loose.

there are a couple factors that lead to his way of thinking on the issue of sexuality. firstly, he spent all of his formative years in a constant state of being judged because of his position in society ( kind of stuck between being a nobleman & commoner but belonging to neither ). so when he was older he basically stopped caring about what people thought of him, especially in matters that were no one else’s business. he liked what he liked & wanted what he wanted. that being said, he also gets very uncomfortable with public displays of affection, specifically when it comes to same-sex ( because he seriously doesn’t understand the concept of a transgender person — if that’s a thing in the world of asoiaf & got, i honestly don’t know if it is or not — so i am not including this in his preferences ) partners. there’s a clear social construct when it comes to matters of relationships & romance — it’s a man’s duty to marry a woman and have children. duty & honour are two qualities that he holds in very high esteem. & this way of thinking also translates into how he views the preferences of other people. he honestly couldn’t care less what people do in private & behind closed doors, unless it specifically effects his desires or honour ( or it falls under the list at the top of the post ). & he becomes very uncomfortable with public displays of affection of unconventional couples because, in his mind, it goes against what a man’s principle duty.

also, in most verses he’s done extensive travelling & two men ( or two women ) sharing a bed does not break the top 100 weird things he’s heard other people do in the bedroom.
