#Repost @kyivindependent_official with @use.repost_ . . . A fire broke out at the Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim oil refinery in Ufa, the capital of Russia’s Bashkortostan Republic, following a drone attack on Aug. 1, according to local officials and residents.

Geolocated footage published by the independent Russian outlet ASTRA showed two columns of black smoke rising from the refinery. Local residents reported hearing explosions and seeing drones over the city.

Bashkortostan Governor Radiy Khabirov confirmed that drones had targeted Ufa, but claimed the attack had been repelled.

According to Khabirov, debris from a downed drone fell in an industrial area, causing smoke. No casualties were reported.

Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim is part of the Bashneft oil company, which is controlled by the Russian state-owned energy giant Rosneft. The refinery produces motor fuel, liquefied gas, petroleum coke, sulfur, and other petroleum products.

The facility is located more than 1,300 kilometers (800 miles) from the front line.

#Repost @kyivindependent_official with @use.repost_ . . . Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) drones again struck the Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat petrochemical plant in Russia’s Bashkortostan Republic, a source in the agency told the Kyiv Independent on Sept. 24.

A fire broke out at the plant following several drone strikes, the source said. Local authorities have also confirmed the attack.

“All emergency services are working on site, and efforts to extinguish the fire are underway,” Radiy Khabirov, head of the Bashkortostan Republic, said on his Telegram channel.

The extent of damage is being assessed, Khabirov added, without mentioning possible casualties.

The Gazprom Neftekhim Salavat facility is one of Russia’s largest oil refining and petrochemical plants, producing 150 different types of products, including gasoline and diesel fuel. It is located some 1,300 kilometers (800 miles) from the front line in Ukraine.

The facility was previously hit by long-range SBU drones on Sept. 18, triggering a “massive explosion” at the center of the facility, a source in the agency told the Kyiv Independent at the time.

#Repost @kyivindependent_official with @use.repost_ . . . Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) drones struck Primorsk, Russia’s largest oil-loading port on the Baltic Sea, overnight on Sept. 12, a source in the agency told the Kyiv Independent.

Primorsk in Leningrad Oblast serves as a key hub for Russia’s “shadow fleet” of aging tankers used to avoid sanctions, the source said. Roughly 60 million tons of oil pass through the port every year, bringing Russia roughly $15 billion, the source added.

After the Ukrainian drone strike, fires broke out at one of the vessels and a pumping station, forcing the suspension of oil shipments, according to the source. This could allegedly cost Russia up to $41 million a day.

SBU drones also successfully struck three oil pumping stations that are part of a pipeline system funneling crude to the Ust-Luga port terminal in Leningrad Oblast, the source claimed.

Primorsk lies roughly 100 kilometers (60 miles) from St. Petersburg and over 900 kilometers (550 miles) north of the Ukrainian border.

#Repost @kyivindependent_official with @use.repost_ . . . Russia’s Engels-2 air base in Saratov Oblast was successfully hit by Ukrainian drones overnight on March 20, a source in the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) confirmed for the Kyiv Independent.

The statement comes after Governor Roman Busargin reported the heaviest drone strike against Saratov Oblast throughout the entire full-scale war.

A fire, explosions, and secondary detonations of ammunition were recorded at the air base following the attack carried out by the SBU and the Special Operations Forces, the source said.

The Engels-2 military air base hosts strategic bomber planes regularly used for aerial strikes on Ukraine. The independent news channel Astra reported explosions near the air base. According to Busargin, residents living near the airfield were being evacuated.

The General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces also reported on the attack.

#Repost @kyivindependent_official with @use.repost_ . . . The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) and Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces (SOS) struck the Ryazan Oil Refinery and the Ryazan Thermal Power Plant in an overnight drone strike on Jan. 24, an SBU source told the Kyiv Independent.

The attack was later confirmed by the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces.

The news comes as Russia’s Defense Ministry reported intercepting 121 Ukrainian drones overnight, including 37 in Bryansk Oblast, 20 in Ryazan Oblast, and 17 in the Kursk and Saratov oblasts each.

The refinery, one of Russia’s largest, has the capacity of 17 million metric tons of oil per year. At least three oil depots and a workshop were set ablaze, according to the source.

The statement confirms earlier reports in Russian Telegram channels that the Ryazan Oil Refinery caught fire after a drone attack.

“SBU and SOS drones also targeted an oil pumping station at the Ryazan Thermal Power Plant,” the source said, without revealing details on possible consequences. Local residents reported more than 50 explosions, according to the source.

Ryazan lies roughly 500 kilometers (310 miles) north of Ukraine’s border.

#Repost @kyivindependent_official with @use.repost . . . Ukrainian drones successfully targeted a weapons depot in Toropets in Russia’s Tver Oblast overnight, a source in the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) told the Kyiv Independent on Sept. 18.

According to the source, drones from the SBU, Ukraine’s military intelligence, and Ukrainian Armed Forces struck a warehouse storing ballistic missiles, including Iskanders, anti-aircraft missiles, artillery ammunition, and KAB guided bombs.

The attack “literally wiped off the face of the earth a large warehouse of the main missile and artillery department of the Russian Defense Ministry,” the source said.

“After the arrival of Ukrainian drones, an extremely powerful detonation began,” and the affected area is 6 kilometers (3.7 miles) wide, the source said.
