the wizardâs apprentice

She had done it for the power; Gellert Grindewald had done something that the lab couldnât; he had made her feel worth something. He had said she as an interesting specimen, one he wanted so badly to teach to control herself. And she had thought he was like her; thought his want was harnessing technology for a few days before she understood magic. But even when she knew that they were from different worlds; him a magical one of wonder, and her from the stark white labs, well she couldnât help but lie to him. After all, heâd given her food, a place to sleep where she didnât feel afraid; she needed it. She had grown addicted. And he believed her, because she had been lying all her life. She was a fantastic liar.
Still, he found out. Her fast past, her endurance, they could all only keep her so alive. He kept calling her a muggle, kept screaming and throwing his magic at her and it kept hurting so much. And then he dumped her, dying, on some wizardâs doorstep. He was mumbling something about visiting an old friend, someone whoâd known her when he was different. She mustâve looked like a toddler in the manâs arms, as he dumped her down uncermoniously and rang the doorbell. She said to tell the man that she was a present from Gellert (what a stupid name) and then he disappeared himself. She felt like she might die.
He had left a note too, tied around some part of her frail body and he wondered if this man was going to hurt her too. She wondered if heâd delivered her straight to a lab .She wondered if he was going to fucking kill her. He could try, he should try. Sheâd heal fast, she knew it. Sheâd kill the fucking wizard if he touched her, she didnât care how close to deathâs doorstep she might be. Â
âBastard! Get out here!â She called it loud as her hoarse voice would let her, but she wondered how loud she really was. âBastard! Câmon, Gellert says youâre a pal. Try and give me hell.â She was aware most of her body could not move (heâd screamed a curse at her and her limbs locked) but sheâd still fight whatever laid beyond the door. âBastard!â
