â©đŸđReview:Â
Smeltzer serves up a delightful second chance sports romance!
âSecond Serve follows estranged exes Ebba Johnson and Fisher Grant after a drunken night in Vegas leads to an accidental marriage. Instead of getting the marriage annulled right away, the two agree to see if they can make things work for the first six months. But to move forward they must confront everything that went wrong between them.
Ebba and Fisherâs love story is the perfect combination of heart and heat! Both characters are layered with many complex emotions stemming from a traumatic event that created a rift in their relationship. Alternating between Ebba and Fisherâs perspectives paint a picture of what they once had and the love that still lingers. Their marriage, unplanned as it is, not only forces them to work through their feelings, but also helps them realize how much they have grown as individuals in their time spent apart. The wistful glances, stolen touches, and sizzling âwill they or wonât theyâ dynamic made my heart flutter! Admittedly, the pacing felt a bit fast and the back and forth between the two was repetitive at times. Still, I loved watching Ebba and Fisher find their way back to each other. Their healing journey resonates and in laying themselves bare, they are able to build something that lasts. The happiness they find in the end is nothing short of satisfying!

Buffalo Stance
The Maserati I picked up in Modena was a reconditioned model. Previously owned, the car had been lovingly rebuilt by the craftsman who had originally made it. The guarantee was the same as if it had been new. My automobile seemed a perfect reflection of my personal state. I too was reconditioned or at least on the way to being so.

Tennis Tip
Our tennis tip comes to us today from Robert Russell, former Director of Tennis Instruction at the Country Club of Jackson in Jackson, MS. Robert is a USPTA professional, and in over 30 years of teaching he has coached over 300 state, sectional, or nationally ranked juniors, and has coached 2 players that played on the professional tour. Robert was voted the Mississippi Tennis Association Coach of the Year in 1994, and will give us some tips on the 2nd serve today. The Second Serve How many of you out there hit a really big first serve and then you âpoofâ your second serve just to make it in the box. A lot of folks need to raise their hand. One of my junior players, wonât mention any names but she has a great serve, lost an important match because she got nervous and started âpoofingâ her second serves. Itâs very demoralizing when youâre playing someone whose second serve is almost as good as their first serve; but on the other hand, when you just âpoofâ your serve in, number one, you give your opponent something to look forward to, and number two, youâve lost your advantage of having the serve and this allows your opponent to dictate how the point is going to be played because they can take your second serve and be very offensive with it. By doing this, you are allowing them to gain their confidence, and you start to lose yours. You are a lot better off being aggressive with your second serve and having more double faults. This way you decide whoâs going to dictate who wins or loses the points, not your opponent. If youâre not double faulting two or three times a match, then youâre really not going for your serveâŠFortune favors the braveâŠso GO FOR IT!
