@secodont asked: 1, 7, 18; meme for roleplay muns
1. What is your favorite trope to rp?
People change during a journey (either it's a real journey or a metaphorical). If nothing happened to the character during the journey, that is, it didn't affect their in any way, they didn't have an assessment of the situation, then I will not read / watch / play such a story.
7. What is one overrated roleplay trend?
People put a lot of emphasis on the character's identity than on world building and how they interact with the world. This is one of the reasons why it's hard for me to roleplay lately, because I often see requests to play some emotions rather than any specific events.
Another overrated thing is completely remaking the author's world to suit your own needs. In that case, a roleplayer doesn't understand the point of roleplaying in canon verses. The point is that your character exists in certain circumstances to which they must adapt. I understand when you change some things which doesn't affect the world globally, but I've seen so many alterations of someone's universes that they become very far from the original. Like, they become a very sugary verse of the original one. No wars, no big issues, no background that forms a character. Everything rainbow and unicorn piss. Even if it has negative characters, the world, which is built in such a way, doesn't explain how this evil character has become evil.
18. What is one thing you’d wish to see more in the rp community?
Less of what I've listed above.
It would also be nice to see less "I don't owe you anything" behavior. This is a very convenient excuse when someone comes to you for threads and then uses this phrase.
