I'm so obsessed with Secco rn and its a bad problem bc he's such a minor character🥹 but I'm picturing this like after Ciocalatta's death and s/o hated Ciocalatta and was already trying to find ways to get him away from Secco (idk if it's just me but Ciocalatta was low-key abusive, Secco isnt morally good either but he's better than that psycho doctor😭) and after he died, they live a kinda normal better life together. I mean as normal as it can be for 2 ppl in the Mafia
SECCO X READER! a/n : i'm sorry this is really short , i don't really know much about secco and my imaginations been going off really lately. still love it though!!
The apartment felt quiet.. not tense, not suffocating. Just quiet. You watched as Secco sat on the edge of the couch, hands fidgeting in his sleeves. He wasn't used to it still, no shouting from another room, no annoying laughter.. no sharp orders disguised as affection. Cioccolatta was gone, and you couldn't care less. You had always hated the man, you spent months trying to pull Secco away from him. You offered softer alternatives, showing him what respect felt like. Cioccolatta's "games" had never sat right with you. Ugh, the way he belittled Secco, the way he controlled him.. it pissed you off, how could anyone like being treated like that? When Cioccolatta finally met his end, you didn't celebrate.. well, not out-loud you didn't. You definitely slept better and worked better too. Secco snapped you out of your thoughts.. "it's... quiet," he muttered, almost confused. "Yeah," You said gently. "It's supposed to be like this." He tilted his head, looking at you with deep intensity. "You don't have to wait for someone to tell you what to do," You continued. "You can just...be, y'know?" Secco looked down, that was the hardest thing to do.. to change. But... he tried it. Weeks turned into months. The apartment slowly started to change, Secco started to decorate it more with warmer lamps and softer furniture. He also started to choose his own clothes, started to speak without looking for approval first, he even laughed once! But all of these did shock him, he didn't know that he could... really be himself for once. One evening, you both sat on the balcony as you watched the city lights of Italy flutter. "You're not going to leave?" He asked suddenly, picking at his fingers again. You turned to him, softening at his genuine expression. "No," You said. "I'm not leaving you." There was no manipulation or lies in your words, you were speaking only the truth, and you'd be doing that for a long time. And for the first time in his life, Secco leaned back comfortably.. his stiff, tense position gone from his body completely. The world hadn't become perfect, but it had become safe.
