‘Month of chilly mornings, evenings drawing in, dew-laden spider webs glistening, the first swirling leaves on walks with dense, muddy, sweet aromas as flowers, foliage and fruit begin to decay and give back to the earth. Not quite autumn but summer's last hurrah. And of course dahlias to ease us into the new season with joy and colour.
