I yearn to hear your voice, 

To feel the touch of your breathe, 

I miss your eyes on me when you think I'm not watching, 

I want to tell you I loved you and still do, 

but you are no longer among us as you once were, 

You have become something to someone else and nothing to me, 

I miss who you were, but not what you are, 

We grew together in times of shear madness,

the peace is what killed us, 

If we are all inherently meaningless and there is no entity that has created us for some higher purpose, then what can we possibly live for? 

This is a question that often causes people to resort to religion because of the consequences not believing in God might have. Well I say that the very reason people resort to religion is the reason why they should stray from it. If we need to believe that we are placed on this earth for a reason then that alone should be a reason for finding such meaning. If we are collectively capable of conjuring up a meaning for our existence then we are just as capable as individuals to do so on our own. 

Is a purpose created by one man any less meaningful than one created by decades of the population? I think it's quite the opposite. A meaning that calls directly to you as an individual says more about you personally than what someone has written as scripture two thousand years ago. I think that life is a journey to find one's purpose and not one to be lived out from birth. 

Don't hide behind the beliefs of our ancestors because you are afraid of having a meaningless life. Life's journey will have its obstacles, but the battle between heart and mind will take you further than any 'set in stone' convictions you can adhere to. 

I always wanted to be something great when I grew up, like a firefighter or an astronaut. With all the different jobs out there, I would always choose one of the ones people deemed courageous or strong. The problem is, when you're a child you can only think about your adult life in terms of a career choice. I think this poses a serious dilemma in terms of society. Why should we teach our children that they will become their job? That they will be lumped into another category when they become adults?
