EVENT 037 - NEW YEAR’S EVE BALL

Another year, another New Year's Eve Ball. The Three Broomsticks is opening its doors to throw this year's event. Many may choose to spend the night at home to stay safe but the manager has assured its customers that every precaution has been taken to keep attendees safe. The champagne will never stop pouring and the music will play all night long. There is even promise of a firework display far more spectacular than any the village has seen before. So whether you are spending it in the pub or at home, put on your best dress and enjoy ringing in 2028 !!

The event will begin on December 29th at 12 noon GMT to the same time January 12th.  “Midnight” at the ball will take place on January 4th also at 12 noon GMT. While going to the ball is optional, we do ask that you pause any threads for muses that are attending the event at the Three Broomsticks. If they are not, you are encouraged to have a non event New Year's Eve thread going on as well as texts and phone calls with those at the event. EVENT 034 - SPRING FESTIVAL

Spring is in full swing! The people of the wizarding world have decided to come together to celebrate everything being in full bloom with a spring festival and farmer’s market. Everywhere the streets will be lined up with stalls selling gorgeous flowers as well as fresh fruit and veg. Make the most of the beautiful weather with the available bikes rentals while some stalls will have crafting activities like painting and flower crown making.

There will be live music as well as plenty of places to grab a drink or something to eat as the sun sets. But make sure to have an umbrella or raincoat on hand as you never know when we might be expecting some spring showers!

EVENT 033 - VALENTINE’S FESTIVAL

Despite the February chill in the air, we all look forward to the loving warmth from those dearest to us. Shops and streets are decorated with glittering red and pink ribbons, hearts can be seen in every window and florists have their work cut out for them as we celebrate Valentine’s Day with a festival that spreads throughout the town.

While our tried and true favorite stalls are set up with all things Valentine’s themed from drinks to snacks to trinkets– there are some hidden gems to look forward to to get you into the spirit of love! Snap a photo with your significant other at the photo booth or cuddle up together on a ride through the Tunnel of Love. Or perhaps catching a production of Romeo & Juliet or watching a romcom at our outdoor cinema in the park is more your speed. Hopefully there’s something for everyone at our Valentine’s Festival– bring your better half or even celebrate your platonic loves of your life!

You are not obliged to take part in these mini events, but we still encourage you to use them as plot devices to create new threads and connections. Example: Even if a character would not attend this event, they would still know it’s happening and might converse about it with others, etc. Unlike previous events, you do not need to put pre-event threads on hold even if you are taking part in the event.

EVENT 032 - NEW YEAR’S EVE BALL

Following last year’s Hogsmeade ball, the authorities in town have decided to throw another one this year. The magical tent roofs have been raised across the streets once again and the warming spells have been cast to keep out the cold. Shops and stalls are open for food and drink and let’s not forget about the dance floor !!

Everyone is dressed to the nines and ready to dance until they drop. Or at least until the fireworks go off at midnight. I hope you’ve found someone to kiss at midnight. If not, that’s okay. Extra security, extra decorations, extra food and even extra fireworks, it’ll be the night of your life !!

EVENT 031 - HALLOWEEN

The leaves have changed, pumpkin spice and cinnamon is being sprinkled on everything and you can find a fake skeleton, Jack-O-Lantern or plastic spider on every corner so that can only mean one thing, it’s Halloween !! Though the annual Autumn Festival was slightly more lowkey this year for security reasons, even recent events can’t put a dampener on the spooky season.

Every witch, wizard and magical person is making their way to Hogsmeade in their best Halloween get-up for the costume contest. Not to mention, there will be tons of games, activities and food to sink your teeth into - or sink your fangs into we should say !! I hear two certain witches are back from their hiatus and ready to cause some mischief this year...

The full event will go from the 31st of October, noon GMT to 14th of November at the same time. You have until the 5th of November to post a picture/edit of any costumes your characters will be wearing if you wish for them to take part in the costume contest as well as send a list into the main (including any platonic or romantic couples costumes). We will post a list and a link to the voting form on the 6th of November. Any costume posted afterward will not be considered and you must post some kind of visual for the costume for voting.
