His gaze was indeed almost blank as they sat together, taking in the lights of the town in the gentle snowfall. Arms were crossed and loosely rested atop his knees. Was Jack sensing that something was bothering him? That was a given; something always bothered him. There was more lurking under his surface than most people realized.
But that wasn’t Jack’s burden. He had his OWN trauma to deal with.
“...” Finally, a sigh, knowing his boyfriend wouldn’t let him get off scot-free. “I just--you already know the shit I deal with, and it doesn’t come close to comparing what you’re dealing with. I’d rather focus on you, that’s all. Nothing for you to feel bad about. I’m okay, really.”
As much as Sebastian hates the Guardians for what they represent and their association with Manny, it’s funny how being fully prepared to sacrifice himself to protect Jack and Cupid was very Guardian-esque behavior.
