       “Well, I’d definitely be in a different place than I am now. Actually... I don’t know if I’d even still be playing volleyball, you know? That’s weird to think about, but with college entrance exams and things coming up, plus the pressure from teachers and counselors to focus on only that instead of volleyball -- since I’m not making a career out of it -- it would be really hard not to have Daichi around. Besides, he’s not just... a close teammate, but he’s my best friend and everyone needs their best friend around. Even if I don’t tell him every thought the second I think it, he’s one of the only people I could talk to about certain things if I wanted to without worrying that he’d stop seeing me the same way or that he wouldn’t accept me any longer. Though I guess he doesn’t really have a choice but to go along with me in a sense -- it’s been so long that I definitely have embarrassing secrets on him! He wouldn’t even know what to do if I spilled them!”
