Me: 1, Kindle Fire: 0
About this time last year I purchased a Kindle Fire to read digital comics on.
Recently, I exceeded the internal memory capacity and started looking for ways to move files from internal memory to SD memory. Despite claims to the contrary, this is not actually permitted in Fire’s native software. My Windows laptop (usually very useful in working around the Fire’s file system) was also declined access.
When technology does not allow me to do basic tasks that I have done since the early days of Windows ... I get very, very stubborn.
The good folks at the MobileRead Forums provided a solution to this problem: Question: Can't access SD card on Kindle Fire
Scroll down to response #12 provided by user Purple Lady for instructions on how to use the work around.
The work around uses an app called ES File Explorer, available on the Google Play Store and through Amazon.
It worked like a charm.
