“so, are you a star or something? i’ve always wanted to be an actress. but, i was told i would never work very well with my co-stars — they’d end up dead,” eve said as she eyed the other. “you don’t look like a killer. in fact, you look a little too nice. do you want me to show you how to conceal and use a weapon? ‘cause pretty women are always picked off first since they taste the best,” she teased, hoping she would be able to find a way to entertain herself. the theater was the last place she wanted to be cooped up, but she was thankful she wasn’t alone. otherwise, she would risk being frozen solid by leaving.

despite the masks obscuring everyone’s faces, it was easy for eve – and the other vampires, she was sure – to distinguish who was of their likeness. caine and eve had found themselves together, eve carefully watching the other as they looked over the moving mass of bodies. “a small crow told me you aren’t eating, caine,” she said, swirling the glass in her hands as she leaned in closer to him. she was used to some of her relatives being… a bit resistant in indulging. but, caine was definitely the worst of the bunch in that regard. “you can’t simply not eat. you will find yourself suffering – if you aren’t already,” she continued. “there’s nothing wrong with a little taste to keep you going. there’s so many here, ready for picking. and, there are no consequences in this town, no laws for doing what you wish. but, i know you – not a cruel bone in your body,” she said with a small huff. “still, you can only push it off until you lose yourself. and, i know you don’t want that. just pick one. bite their neck and make them feel good. it’s a rush for them and they would probably thank you for it. you have enough control to stop yourself before something bad happens.”

eve couldn’t help but follow the magical scent, ending up in front of someone who was certainly the source. there was a small smirk on her lips as she eyed the other. “you’re not busy, are you? there’s certainly someone who’s a bit busy with you, though – and it’s not me,” she teased, taking notice of someone watching the woman. “i think we should play with them, don’t you?” she suggested as she reached out and took the other’s hand, gently tugging her further onto the dancefloor. “he clearly thinks your pretty, so i’m just helping you two along. or, i could just take you all for myself because he’s too much of a coward to make the move before i did,” she teased, leaning into whisper into the other’s ear. being so close, however, was far too tempting.

eve was dangerously – but playfully – nipping at dulce’s shoulder as she slyly exposed it with a gentle tug of the other’s clothes. “i was wondering if you were as sweet as your name implies, but i am trying to be good and keep myself from indulging in the answer,” she said before pulling away slightly to look the other in the eyes. “you’re not letting anyone else be this close to you, are you? i don’t like sharing and my possessiveness can turn out to be quite bloody,” she asked, head tilting to the side slightly. “because someone so beautiful is not one i want to give away. surely, you understand?” she continued, lips leaning in to hover over dulce’s.

eve’s eyes were wide as she practically danced between the people in the stalls, gaze never leaving someone she chose to trail behind. she was hungry and all the people in town were only making her hungrier – she didn’t want to play it ‘good’ anymore. she waited until she thought the time was right, cornering them with a semi-gentle push. “you shouldn’t leave your back turned all night. did you even know i was following you?” she taunted, fangs flashing with her smile. “this is a carnival, right? everyone should be able to win their prize and i’m here to collect mine. i think that’s pretty fair.”
