Reaching forward on the t i p s of her toes, hands outstretch for a    book perched at the top of a shelf. The ladder she balanced on    wiggled under her weight, but still she had yet to realize the    feeble condition it was in. Honestly, the university could really    invest in a new ladder--
                                          "Kyaaa!"
   She'd stretched too far and the ladder had had enough. The step    she focused her weight on snapped in two, and she tumbled toward    the hard carpeted flooring.
