Okay okay, but to counter that a TEENY BIT~~~; he USED to be a somebody, but THEN, after falling and being forgotten about, BECAME a nobody~~âŚ..does..does That work??âŚ..
for me? for me, personally? no. no, it does not work, at all. because even that still smacks of this idea of him having been born (created) special and therefore the fact that he becomes this hero at the end is pre-destined somehow, because that âspecialnessâ was always still inside him, just waiting. itâs a chosen one narrative, in a sense, and i am sick to death of chosen ones. personally.Â
(for aziraphale being a principality -- see this post. TL:DR version is as a principality there are only two ranks of angels lower than him; he basically amounts to a working class angel with a job as a security guard, not a Somebody.)
but you know, even if it doesnât work for me? if it works for you, thatâs fine. YMMV, as i tagged the original post. your mileage may vary. itâs headcanon, which means itâs personal. for me, personally, no, it doesnât work. if it does for you, personally, have fun with it! i genuinely mean that! thatâs how transformative fandom works. there isnât a right or wrong answer when it comes to headcanons like this; only a right or wrong for you, personally.
with that in mind. the only thing that would not be cool is if this became the sort of pervasive fanon which people get attacked for not adopting, and/or are told theyâre wrong for not using. i have seen it happen before in other fandoms and i have heard anecdotally it is happening with this very headcanon.
