Push up, sit up, pull up, step up, kick up, give up.........
I had my grumpy knickers on when I headed out to Circuits. If hadn't booked it and blogged it, there's no way I was going. Â No pal, no motivation.
And to make matters worse, it was Monday. Â Smiley Caring Karen does Tuesday. Â The confident and friendly woman who greeted me as I was first(!) through the door, had a different look about her. What's worse, she said her name was Jen. Â It's a small town, and there could be 2 of them, but I figured this was G.I. Jen.
And a whole different set of ladies arrived, blocking my exit. Â Running Girls! Â At least 7 of them. Â It quickly became clear, that not only do I need to take part in each themed class, but I need to take part in the ones that happen on different nights/days, if I am to get a true picture of what is going on around here. Â This was not going to be the same. Â A nervous looking acquaintance told me this was her first night. Â I reassured her that although I did run, I had been unable to make much of the excercises last week, and had lived to tell the tale. Â Her work colleague had recommended she come. Overweight, 45yrs old and a smoker, she figured it was time. Â But her work colleague turned out to be the fastest girl in town!!! Â (Well, I think there might now be one faster one, but that doesn't make her slow.) I did tell her that it was hard to be too sympathetic......what did she think was going to happen?
Non-stop sessions at 7 stations, for 45 mins. Â Smiley, Caring Karen at least gave us a break.
But it did pass. Â 45 mins whizzed by, and before I knew it I was home, eating curry and none the worse..........though I think there may be more pain tomorrow than I suffered last week. Â Â
I need to get the local paper and find some nice, cultural event to go to. It can't all be like this. When is the Screen Machine coming back?
