#screamer warning

SCREAMERS. ARE NOT. FUNNY.

If you're fine with them then that's fine

But just because you are doesn't mean others will be

I remember a while back, I saw a video about Halloween costumes that seemed cool

As soon as I clicked on it I was greeted with a loud screamer of a bloody woman that sent me into a full blown panic attack that took me a long time to calm down from.

I talked about it on tumblr to warn others

And in response, some people were supportive

But others thought that calling me a pussy was a good idea and that i "should've expected it"

I. HAD. A PANIC ATTACK. FROM THAT SHIT.

I HAD NO CLUE THAT THERE WAS GONNA BE A SCREAMER. IT WAS A VIDEO ABOUT HALLOWEEN COSTUMES.

I DIDNT EXPECT SHIT.

If someone has a breakdown from something, don't call them a pussy for it. Don't downgrade them for it. Don't make them feel even worse.

Screamers aren't funny, nor are they cool

They're stupid and a good way to give someone an actual heart attack. And im not even kidding.

If someone has heart problems or anything like that, Screamers are fucking dangerous.

So

If you're about to put a screamer in ANYTHING

think about what you're doing and think about the fact that what you're doing could potentially hurt someone else.

If you wanna make something scary, you can do it without screamers

It won't make it any less scary, just do something else

And if you wanna put a jumpscare or anything like that in your post, PUT. A FUCKING. WARNING. please. It's not that hard.

This post isn't calling out anyone or meaning to offend others. I'm not gonna be mad at you if you like screamers.

But just keep in mind that things like this effect others differently than you and be cautious.

Before you show someone something scary or something that has a jumpscare or screamer in it, warn them or ask them if you can show it to them.

If they say no, don't show it to them.

It's that simple.

Long story short

Screamers aren't funny and they never will be

Scroll through the video to see if there is a screamer

Or scroll down to the comments to see any mentions of a screamer.

And if you're not able to pause in time, turn the volume ALL THE WAY DOWN as fast as you possibly can.

this video has a very loud screamer at the beginning and it's the exact same video that sent me into a panic attack.

IF YOU SEE THIS IN A YOUTUBE AD MUTE YOUR DEVICE AND SCROLL UNTIL YOU CAN’T SEE THE VIDEO SCREEN ANYMORE.

This is an ad about animal cruelty that has very loud screaming of dying animals. Also flashing, graphic pictures of said animals, like a dead chicken or a pig biting a wired fence.

It’s about thirty seconds, the screaming starts 10 seconds in and the ad isn’t skippable.

It can trigger panic attacks and cause your anxiety to skyrocket, and it’s just generally a very disturbing thing no one should see.

I’ve only seen a warning yet, haven’t stumbled across this before despite using YT a lot but for the love of God please be careful. Here is a link to that video but ONLY WATCH IT IF YOU KNOW YOU’RE NOT SENSITIVE TO THIS TYPE OF CONTENT. I’m merely giving out the link so you can report it and I wouldn’t advise any of you actually watch it.

Another edit just to reassure you guys: The animals you can hear in it aren’t suffering! It’s heavily edited pig squeals, pigs are noisy animals and are most likely to get loud when they’re excited or there’s food around. The audio was drastically altered to make it more traumatizing. Still wouldn’t recommend anyone listens to this.

I remember running into this RPGMaker game a few years ago. It’s available on the Steam Workshop (on the RPGMaker VX Ace workshop) and also GameJolt. I don’t remember a lot about the screamer prank in the game, but IIRC it was accessible early on by going into the library area. The jumpscare pic has a background scream sound effect and it also flashed I think.
