Peaked : Near Wanaka there is a trail that lead to Roy's Peak. The trail itself is really nice, no rocks and well maintained but the sheer vertical climb(5000+ feet) is what makes it difficult. To add to it, we got a really late start and were pressed for time. The sun was setting quickly. What is normally a 3-4 hour hike had to be done in just over two hours if we wanted to make it for sunset. The entire way up, legs burning, we came across many people making their way down. As we crossed paths, they would tell us how much time it would take to the top. Many had their doubts that we would make it in time, but we knew we would make it - we had to. As the colors changed and pinks poured across the sky, we reached the top. It was the most difficult hike I've ever done, but this view made it entirely worth it 🙌🏼 #newzealit by scottborrero
