I wanted to say something related to my last post, too. While doing a tumblr search about the recent events, I saw someone post this gif making a joke about how it represented people from reddit running to defend scott cawthon. Thing is, this man is this gif is Linkara from Atop the Fourth Wall, and he’s a good dude. In particular, he is an ally the LGBT community. I understand that the person using this gif may not have known he who was and perhaps wanted to make a fedora joke* but I wanted to take this opportunity to give a positive shout-out and promotion to Linkara for being a cool guy. I don’t like to bother people on their own pages, so I just wanted to address my concern here without naming anyone. *also a side point, I know stereotypes come from somewhere, but fedora jokes are shitty in a similar way to “karen” jokes, etc. You aren’t addressing the actual issue of someone being an asshole even though it’s clearly the point of what you’re upset about. I think we should focus more on stigmatizing actual bad behavior instead of making fun of people’s names or fashion tastes. Stigmatizing harmless things like clothing and names is just going to add more misery to the world.
