Pear's Journal: 18/12/200X

I'm so mad at Mom and Dad right now. Dad's half-retired now, so he's home more often, and it means that we get to watch them fight and make up and fight again. We got to watch a really great show at dinner, I'm pretty sure Sterling learned some new words he hadn't even heard on the playground yet. I'm so MAD!! Honestly sometimes I think Mom is so selfish that if all three of us dropped off the face of the Earth she wouldn't even notice. Sterling ran away after dinner and I didn't find him until it was dark out. It was so hard not to freak out, it's dangerous where we live and he's just a kid. Anyhow I managed to convince him to come home, but who knows where we go from here. I can't wait till I graduate and I can get out of here, and maybe take him with me.

Amanda is getting on my last nerve. She had her friend Miko over, and little did I know they had a plan to DYE HER HAIR a really hideous, patchy black...I have no problem with hair dye, obviously, but at least get it done professionally! And choose a colour that compliments your look...not...whatever she's just done! I think there were scissors involved, there's pieces of her beautiful brown hair in the bathroom trashcan!

Dear Diary,

O.M.G......Rohan came by the house! I was like, almost not going to let him in, because I was so worried I would say something stupid. I probably did say something stupid. I don't even remember! He was flirting with me, and I was so into it, and I don't know...

We went for a walk and looked at the stars...and then we...you know, we kissed. BLAH it feels so weird to write that! But it was really nice...

I've got to like chuck this diary to the moon or something so no one can find out. Mom would be mad, Dad would be even madder, and Pear and Sterling would tease me till I melted into a puddle and died of embarrassment!

Pear's Journal: 06/09/200X

Mom doesn't get it! I just want to dress up as Pineapple Bear...all the time! He's my favourite character in the whole wide world. If I was him, I could just be funny and cool and never have to do homework or chores ever again. But Mom says that I can't wear my pineapple bear costume to school, because it's not 'appropriate' and the other students will get distracted. Plus she says it's important to dress fashionably so that other kids know that you're the most popular and the coolest. I just want to be Pineapple Bear....

How long has it been since I actually had free time? My studio looked as if I hadn't touched it since we adopted Amanda - which, yeah, I probably hadn't. But now that Mandy and Pear are at school during the day, I have a sliver of time to myself to work on my candles. And people are actually buying them - through the internet! They see the pictures I upload on Plopsy, they send money, I mail them one of my unique pieces of art. It's pocket change compared to what Thorne makes...obviously...but it's better than doing nothing with my life, you know?
