Scorpius paints his nails all sorts of colors all the time. Mostly to curb his habit of chewing on them when he’s nervous. True to his punk/emo/goth lifestyle his favorite is black nail polish but he loves to do a lot of sparkly colors, especially pink. It makes Scorp feel confident and nice, plus people compliment his nails. Libra and Scorpius both have regular nail painting sessions with their step mom, El.

CONS:

Scorpius’ father had nearly made him leave it at home, the locket now sitting below his shirt, a constant reminder of what had been. Looking down at his fathers things, he swore the locket grew colder against his skin. Alec had not been the best parent, but he had tried, sentimentality seemed lost on him unless it was about Mom. What had he called the locket? A bauble? Something insignificant he could find somewhere else, even in Andromeda.

Just because it hadn’t come from Mom. It was from Aurora, a small trinket that she had told him to keep, symbolizing her promise to look out for him, her promise that no one at home would forget him. It carried the smallest pinch of dirt from earth, a seed nestled at the heart. And his father had wanted him to throw it away..

Anger boiled over in Scorpius’s veins, cooking him from the inside out, his limbs acting on their own as they scattered Alec’s things to the ground of his sons quarters. His own goddamn baubles. They clattered and skidded across the floor just as tears burst from the young man’s eyes, how could his father still haunt him? He’d been dead for months, and yet thoughts of Alec pained Scorpius as if they were still raw and open.

Aurora first finds out about Alec and the twins through the cousins on her moms side, Jupiter and Halley. They lived fairly close to the Ryders after the Alliance contacted them as next of kin when the siblings were taken from their gang and relocated to Vancouver from Las Vegas. Alec looked after them from afar until they went their own ways into the Alliance ranks. Jupiter and Halley told Aurora about Alec the first day she met them, and gave his contact information to her. Of course Alec was reluctant to meet her until she let him know who her mother and father were, as his first wife was Aurora’s aunt.

They all met as a group in the months before the Hyperion left for Andromeda, and just a bit after Rajani became pregnant with Orion. Scorpius instantly took to Aurora as they shared the same interests in CONSPIRACIES, but also because Aurora took him under her wing as he reminded her of her brother. The fact El, their step mother, is a Drell also helped immensely as Auroras adopted father Vigor is a drell. THERE WERE A LOT OF HUGGING AND LAUGHING, Libra basically bench pressed Aurora. It was a fun time.
