It was a question the Arakkoa was too curious to refuse. “Do you want to see what’s on the other side of the portal?” The army was gearing up for a last push into Tanaan; this included a quick trip back ‘home’ for supplies. Izzial had went along with them.
While they were at the staging area, preparing the supplies for transport back to Tanaan, the avian had… slipped out of the staging camp. The opportunity to see more wasn’t something he could ignore. And surely, he’d be back in time anyways. This urging is what led him to the rich, red cliff face overlooking…. “By Terokk, it’s huge.” In the face of such a massive body of water, Izzial could only gawk at it. Having grown up in a rich, foresty area, the enormity of the ocean was overwhelming.
Unfortunately for the avian, that wasn’t the only overwhelming thing.
Originally made for flight, the Arakkoan race wasn’t exactly heavy. As a strong wind blew across the buff, he found himself suddenly forced forward, another gust only making him stumble further. His feet had almost found purchase… but then his foot hit a patch of loose dirt. The next moment, Izzial found himself tumbling over the cliff face, plummeting through the air, and ending it with a splash, disappearing beneath the water’s surface.
Now, he could swim… But swimming as the waves slammed incessantly against the cliff base wasn’t something he had experienced before. The lithe avian struggled to tread water, oblivious to the encroaching cliff base… as well as the observant eyes of a naga. Izzial’s red plumage was remarkably easy to see, after all.
