Star-Crossed Lovers//Stiles Stilinski & Isaac Lahey - Part 6
Characters: Stiles Stilinski, Isaac Lahey, Scott McCall, Reader.
You hadn’t slept. You lied in your husband’s arms wondering why you had cheated, why he had cheated. You wondered why you couldn’t get Isaac Lahey out of your head.
Maybe it was human nature, you wanted what you couldn’t have. The nights you lied in Isaac’s arms you wanted nothing more than a shower and one of Stiles’ flannels. The nights you lied with Stiles you missed the thrill of being with Isaac. The new feeling he gave you.
You lift Stiles’ arm off of your waist, climbing out of bed as you sigh. He cheated first. He cheated on you with someone he told you he used to be in love with. Did he really love you? Yes. Did he still want Lydia? No. You’d had this discussion before he proposed.
You grab towels and walk to the bathroom, your phone in hand. Showers helped you think. You unlock your phone, seven messages from Isaac are the first thing you notice.
How are you?
Are you okay?
How is Stiles?
Did you work things out?
Y/N?
Call me in the morning.
I need to know that everything is okay.
You dial his number, flicking on the small stereo you kept in the bathroom. The sound of Total Eclipse of the Heart filled your ears as the chorus played on the oldie’s station.
“Y/N.” Isaac breathes out, “You’re okay?”
“I’m confused. Okay, but confused.” You lift the handle on the shower, hot water streaming.
“Did you talk?”
“Kind of. We both saved ourselves the pain of the gory details and just decided to go to bed.”
“So…things are fine?” Isaac sounds confused.
“No.” You say quickly.
“Oh.”
“He cheated. I cheated. We cheated. Things aren’t fine. We always communicate, that’s one of the things we’re good at, but if we lacked communication so much that we couldn’t even tell each other when we were horny? There’s something wrong there.” You sigh as you pull the curtain, sitting on the edge of the bathtub.
“He cheated first, I’m obviously biased to you here, but I will tell you this,” you hear his bed creak in the background. You woke him up, “Stiles lost all interest in Lydia the moment he talked to you. I’ve known him since grade school, he loves you more than anything.”
“I know. I know that. But what if I’d liked you first when we met? What if I pined over you for years and then I’d cheated on him with you. He’d be concerned, wouldn’t he?” You place your hand on your chin.
“He would.” He sighs.
“Isaac, if he wanted sex…if he wanted sex he could’ve gotten it anywhere. A stranger at a bar, a girl he passed in the hallway when he was in high school, the cashier at a grocery store. But he went to Lydia. They got drunk, and he had sex with her. Not once, not twice, but multiple times.”
“Y/N, I know. I knew about the first time, and I didn’t want to tell you, b—“
“Which I’m pissed at you for, by the way.” You interrupt.
He sighs, “Understood, but I didn’t want to tell you because…because I had feelings for you. Telling you would’ve given me a personal victory. I didn’t like that feeling.”
“You had feelings for me?” You sit up.
“I-uh..yeah.”
“Okay.” You stand, sighing as you throw your head back, “Things keep getting more and more difficult.”
“I’m sorry.” Isaac says quietly.
“Don’t apologize. None of this is your fault. Everything is just..coming out at one time. It’s a lot to handle.”
“Y/N?” You hear Stiles on the other side of the door.
“Isaac, I have to go. I’ll talk to you later.” You hang up quickly and open the door.
“Who was that?” He asks, his eyes still hooded from the sleep.
“Isaac. He was wondering how things were going.”
“Oh.”
“That was all.” You say softly, looking at your hands.
“I trust you.”
“You shouldn’t.” You look up at him and he sighs.
“You shouldn’t trust me either.” He shakes his head.
You bite your lip and grab his face with both hands, “Stiles, we’ve both done things wrong. I think…I think we should work on it. Together. I-I can’t lose you.”
He places his hands on your wrists, “I can’t lose you either, Y/N. I love you, and-and we both made promises to each other. I know what I said about a divorce, but…I don’t want a divorce. I want you. Forever.”
You sigh softly, “I want you too. Forever.”
He kisses your forehead, “Why don’t you shower and I’ll make us breakfast?”
You nod, “Thanks, babe. I’ll hurry.”
He smiles and you both part from each other. You shut the door and begin to undress, turning the radio up as you look in the mirror.
Your hair dried in your sleep, it was flat. You hadn’t got all of your makeup off, you had black smudges under your eyes. You were tired. You groan and shake your head, pulling back the curtain. You step inside, hoping and praying that maybe this shower would clean your mind of everything that had happened. Unlikely.
“That’s what I told her, but Allison said that she wasn’t going to-“ Scott stops, glancing up at you as you walk into the room.
“Oh..Scott, I didn’t know you were coming over.” You say quietly.
“Sorry. Allison and I are having quite a debate about what pediatrician we should take Victoria to. I needed out of the house for a little bit.” He looks between you and Stiles.
“No, you’re fine. You know you’re welcome here anytime.” You nod, walking towards the coffee pot.
Scott stays quiet, drumming his fingers on the countertop as you pour your coffee. He squints at the back of your head. You know what he thinks of you right now. You know that he knows that his best friend’s wife is a cheater.
Scott clears his throat, “I better get going, I’m supposed to be out picking up diapers.” He stands.
“Are you sure? You couldn’t have been here long. You can stay if you’d like.” You give him a small smile.
He shakes his head and narrows his eyes, “Priorities. Some people have them.” He grabs his jacket and pulls it on an Stiles sighs. Scott walks out the front door and Stiles turns to you.
“You told him?” You gape.
“Y/N, he’s my best friend! How could I not tell him?”
You sit your coffee cup on the counter, “By keeping your mouth shut! This means he’s probably told Allison.” You sigh, “Stiles, this is our problem! Not theirs! You know who I told about you cheating? No one!” You bury your face in your hands.
“He saw you at Isaac’s last night. He asked about you.” Stiles says quietly.
“So, you lie! You don’t tell everyone our business. The whole pack probably knows already!”
“Y/N, I’m sorry.” He sighs.
You pick your coffee cup back up, heading for the stairs, “Dammit.” You mutter, shaking your head.
