“Here come these scientists talking about a volcano that no one knew existed really before, that just happens to be right between the two military bases. Everybody's looking at us sideways, like, "What's your game here, scientists?”
“No one trusted us. A lot of the military didn't trust us because, well, we're scientists and we look like it. We're walking around in shorts and beards and flip-flops.”
