Today, we will be interviewing the one who started it all… GREGORY ILLEA!

Hi there, @gregory-illea! We were wondering if you could answer some questions that everyone has been wondering for years!

1. What would your career be if you hadn’t discovered Illea?

2. How do you feel about your great grandson, @marid-illea failing at restoring your family name and stealing the crown?

3. Who is your favourite family member? (Schreave or Illea)

4. Where did you grow up?

What I was trying to say was that Maxon should have had dark hair unless Amberly’s genotype for hair color was Bb which I doubt from the little we know about her family. So correct, with Maxon and America both having recessive hair colors, Eadlyn should not be a brunette/have black hair, but here we are.

*Everyone (40 or so people) talking about the fastest time they've read a book*

Me: “I’ve read one book in 3 hours!!” (Hint: The One)

*Everyone still talking*

Maddie, the girl who sits next to me: “I read The Selection… in three days.”

*Whips my head over to look at her*

Me: “Maddie, you’ve read The Selection Series?”

She’s doesn’t hear me because she’s trying to explain to Carmen how The Selection works.

Me: “Maddie, what did you think of the ending for The One?”

Maddie: “Uh… What was the ending? I’ve forgotten.”

I think: HOW CAN ANYBODY FORGET THAT ENDING??????????

Me: “Southern rebels… Clarkson and Amberly died….”

Maddie: “Oh yeah! I was happy that Clarkson died. He was such a jerk. He was the one character I hated the most in the series.”

Me: “Heh….. *Remembering The Queen-Queen Abby* Have you read The Queen?”

Maddie: “What’s The Queen?”

*Gasp*

Me: “You haven’t heard of The Queen?”

Maddie: “No, what is it?”

Me: “It’s Amberly’s Selection. It was so weird seeing Clarkson as a 19 year old! But anyway, during this book, you find a character that I hate so much more than Clarkson, and by the way the end of Chapter 6… *Cringes*”

Maddie: “I wish Amberly didn’t die.”

Me: “Do you want to know the original ending?”

She nods.

Me: “Okay. Maxon died-”

Maddie: “NOOO!” *babblers on about how wonderful Maxon is*

Me: “Let me finish. Maxon and Clarkson died, Amberly lived, and then she adopted America because she always wanted a daughter, America chose Aspen, got married, and became king and queen.”

*Slaps my music folder at her reaction and laughs my head off almost silently because we’re in the middle of practice*

I think: Man, this is hilarious!

Maddie: “I would have hated that. Maxon and America were my two people for a relationship goal.”

Me: “Are you excited for The Heir?”

Maddie: “What’s The Heir?”

Hmmm… Well I think it would change over the years, especially with how old the twins are, but basically:

-Maxon and America inviting all their friends and family and the girls from America’s selection to the castle for huge festivities and lots and lots of presents 

-The family all going carolling on Christmas eve and when the twins were younger they’d fall asleep in their parents’ arms before it was all over and when they were older they’d put on a whole “I don’t wanna go carolling!!!!” act but secretly love it

-Maxon refusing to hire a santa and instead doing the whole getup himself, inclusive of eating every single carrot the twins left out for the reindeer, putting a pillow in his santa suit to look fat and stuffing himself with the gingerbread the twins made that day (Eadlyn’s perfect and Ahren’s drowned in icing, and America already ate hers within an hour of making them!)

-“but what if I import reindeer” “MAXON NO” (and them eventually agreeing on dressing up the horses instead)

-America being the first to wake up and getting super excited at 3am about Christmas and Maxon was up late last night distributing presents under trees and gifts in stockings so he’s really tired and eventually convinces her to go to sleep

-Everyone goes to Maxon’s room in the morning and when there’s 3 of them there they go to the 4th person’s room and wake them up (probably by jumping on their bed)

-America and Maxon having a first round of small gifts in the morning in the 4th person’s room and then more presents after lunch

-Every year, three (or something like that) of the poorer families in the country are randomly selected to dine with the Schreaves for Christmas lunch and dinner and receive presents from them too

-Leftovers from Christmas lunch and dinner are also distributed among the poor along with blankets, non-perishable food, Christmas cards (etc)

-Maxon insisting on taking photos of everyone opening their christmas presents and forgets to open his own

-ugh just dumb christmas schreave cuties
