last week i read if youre a kid like gavin and i am jazz to my 3rd graders and i was explaining nonbinary to them (they use they/them pronouns for me) and all the bathroom fights and at our school all bathrooms are gender neutral but i was like "not all schools have gn bathrooms" and one kid looks at me and goes "omg but what would you do you'd have to split yourself in half and one side would go to the boys br and one side to the girls br" and then another kid looks at him and yells, at full volume, "thats not how nonbinary works!"

Is this not the weirdest sh*t? "Sorry little Johnny but you suck at spelling and now that man is dead." Just limb by limb, his head in a noose, hanging in a gallows, the pressure building on poor little school children to choose wisely on the next letter. Not for cash and prizes like Wheel of Fortune, but so you don't hang a man to his death. . Was he innocent? Was he guilty? What did he do? Why did he have to hang for little Johnny's terribly phonics skills? And we did this at SCHOOL. And I was only today years old when I saw this tweet and thought about how weird this is, lol. . not my school, but two years ago a math teacher at a rival highschool slept with his student and got arrested
kids at my school will do drug deals in the engineering hallway’s bathroom
there are consantly juul and cig busts, everywhere in the school, all the damn time
kids will walk around the school with giant ass pythons around their necks,,,just for fun
two “friends” of mine got caught having sex in the hallway after school,,,and they got caught by the wrestling coach
we have a 100-strong, all too active “Christian Club” where they get together to pray for the school
westboro baptist protested at my school during my freshman year

Story time! When I was in high school, we had themed dress up days during homecoming week (as you do) and one of them was Western Day. Well, I wasn't interested in dressing as a cowgirl (because I didn't have any way to do that) so somehow I got it in my head that I would be Zorro. I was pretty proud of myself. I had a cape and mustache and everything, even made myself a cardboard hat with a Z on it Well that morning some random teacher who didn't know how to mind her own business came up and asked me who I was supposed to be, and when I told her, she said, "Zorro isn't *western*!" And it had been a long time since I'd watched the series...what if I was misremembering?? What if I'd gotten it wrong?? I was kinda embarrassed and worried that I'd made a dumb mistake. I was just thinking about that this morning and decided to look it up just for kicks. And you know what?? I WAS RIGHT. Take that, silly nosy teacher! Yesterday we watched The Devil wears Prada after dinner and it was perfect. There was also a scampering from under the sheets at two in the morning (sleepy eyed, zombie faced) to the balcony as we had forgotten to put the dry clothes from the clothes line back inside. We just couldn't sleep on and let them get wet when the rains started pelting the side rails. - - Recently I enjoyed reading Mr. Tibbit's Catholic school by Ysenda Maxtone Graham from @foxedquarterly. It follows the memories and anecdotes housed in a private boys school in Kensington and offered several hilarious moments. Complete with a eccentric cast of teachers and reminiscent of the time when boys schools were an important part of society, this is a charming read.
