@stuslover awe thank you for saying how I write so well for Georgie I really enjoy hearing reader’s thoughts on my work ❤️ quote from my ask box "srry im really obsessed with him and you're the best georgiewriter ik so.."
Request - the reader is in Georgie’s class and he’s in love with her but she doesn’t appear interested because he’s such a player. One day a rumor is spread and discovered by the reader where she freaks out until Georgie comes to calm her down after another boy starts insulting her.
Rummaging around in my locker with my knees bent so I was almost sitting on the ground when I heard some girls in my class walking up towards me giggling about something even as they stopped on the other side of the locker where one of them named Brittany grabbed it and peaked her head around getting my attention. “Hey Y/n, did you hear the news!”
“No. Why, what is it?”
She grinned a toothy smile throwing her strawberry blonde hair around when she jumped up and down excitedly. “Georgie Cooper just dumped his girlfriend Jana.”
“And I should care about that, why?”
She shot me a confused look. “Uh because he’s been in love with you since the second grade.”
“No he hasn’t.”
She gasped like I offended her personally. “Yes he has! Do you not see the way he looks at you?”
“Okay fine I noticed and you know what I think?” Getting up from my crouched position once I had managed to find my history book that was buried in the bottom of my locker. Shutting it closed I held the book against my chest, rolling my eyes at her and fake gagging. “I think he’s a player and flirts with girls for a long time until they cave, they date for a few months then he gets bored and he’s onto the next one. Why would I date someone like that because the thought makes me want to barf.”
Brittany opened her mouth to say something but one of the other girls cut her off. “Don’t even bother talking to her about dating Georgie. You know the rumor about her don't you?”
“What rumor?” I asked when Brittany and I shared the same confusion on our faces.
The other girl who stood directly beside the blonde was a brunette dressed in a short skirt and a very high ponytail. “Everyone knows Georgie would never date someone like you. You’re obviously not pretty enough based on who he's dated in the past. And it's so obvious you're not his type since you aren't girly. I mean you literally tore a chicken thigh apart with your bare hands until you got down to the tiny bare bones like an animal.” She crossed her arms over her chest scowling at me.
“I've never heard anything like that.” Brittany remarked.
I went to reply yet nothing came out of my mouth so I just stood there with my mouth hanging wide opened for a good minute or two while the girls just stared back at me. “Who - who started the rumor?” Eventually I could form the question in my throat, blinking I felt my eyes beginning to water heavily where I swore I was going to cry which was something I rarely ever did.
“Oh sweetheart I thought you would have known, I did it.” The brunette whose name was Tiffany chuckled dryly. She turns toward Brittany waving a hand up for dramatic effect. “I mean you know I'm right. Like Georgie would never go for a girl like her. He's just nice because he feels sorry for her cause she's crazy or-”
I had no idea what happened first but something suddenly snapped inside of me and I completely lost it right there in the hallway. My hands formed into fists and I lunged forward tackling Tiffany tl the cold tile ground, screaming as we tumbled downward. She tried to fight back by hitting her hands against my chest but I was much better at fighting than she is. Moving my fists down onto her chest we each groaned at the blows where I managed to give her a good bloody nose right before someone yanked me backwards by my jacket hood making me wince with how harsh they were gripping the hood and part of my loose hair.
Whoever was holding onto my hair slammed my back against the nearest locker which rattled my brain for a minute. My vision blurred in front of me and my ears were ringing when I barely heard a person talking back to me. “You think you can lay a hand on my girlfriend, Garrison!”
“T - Tony.” I croaked out while his hand was holding me by my throat so I scrambled grabbing onto his arm trying to pull him off of me. Sadly he was one of the football players and so he had much more strength than I did.
His dirty blonde hair was falling in front of his eyes and he glared at me, getting up in my face with Brittany just standing off to the side too afraid to do anything. “I otta knock a good nosebleed into your own mama won’t recognize you!” His girlfriend was currently picking herself up off the floor, holding her sleeve underneath her bleeding nose.
“Hey! What’s goin’ on here?” Apparently a crowd of people had gathered around us, wanting to watch the scene that was occurring in the hallway. Glancing out the corner of my eye I noticed a familiar brown head of hair coming over to us that could only belong to Georgie Cooper. He was wearing a dark grey flannel, blue jeans with a belt and some muddy brown boots.
Tony didn’t turn his head away from me. “Stay outta this, Cooper. This doesn’t concern you.”
“I do think it’s my concern considering your holdin’ my friend by her throat.” Tony ignored him and still held me against the locker until Georgie came up and grabbed him by his forearm, yanking him off of me. I wasn’t sure how it was that he could overpower him but it didn’t matter when I slid down the wall, leaning against Brittany while the two boys stood in a face off against each other. “Get your hands off of her.”
Georgie didn’t wait for Tony to back down. He stepped between me and the football player. Tony shoved him first but Georgie barely moved, just planted his boots and pushed him right back. “You don’t put your hands on her.”
The crowd reacted in half gasps, half excited whispers. Tony lunged again, and this time the two of them collided, grabbing at each other’s shirts as they stumbled a few steps. It wasn’t elegant; it was messy, fueled by adrenaline, ego and the fact that Tony had crossed a line Georgie wasn’t willing to ignore.
For a second, Georgie actually had the upper hand where he pushed Tony back, forcing him toward the lockers. But Tony was bigger, and once he regained his footing, he used his weight to shove Georgie down. They hit the floor in a tangle, Tony pinning Georgie by the shoulders. Brittany gasped beside me. Tiffany, still holding her nose, smirked like she’d won something.
“Get off of him!” I quickly shouted, grabbing Tony by the back of his letterman jacket.I yanked with everything I had, enough to throw him off balance so Georgie could shove upward at the same time. Tony toppled sideways, hitting the floor with a surprised grunt.
Georgie scrambled up immediately, putting himself between me and Tony again, one arm instinctively reaching back like he was shielding me. Before Tony could get up, a sharp voice cut through the hallway.
“Enough! All of you, stop right there!”
A teacher pushed through the circle of students, eyes wide and furious. The crowd scattered like startled birds. The teacher’s gaze landed on the three of us - Tony on the floor, Georgie breathing hard, me standing behind him with my fists still clenched.
“What,” the teacher demanded, “is going on?”
Georgie didn’t hesitate. “She was being attacked. I wasn’t gonna let that happen.”
The teacher ran a hand down her face with a long huff of frustration. “Alright all of you are done here. Tiffany goes to the nurse, Y/n you too. Tony, you to the principal office. Georgie, Brittany, you two can go with them if you want. But after that get your butts to class immediately.” She spun on her heels walking away and leaving us without another word.
Tiffany shot me a glare as her boyfriend draped an arm over her shoulder, taking her to the nurses office. “I'm still right about the rumor I started. He still won't date someone as crazy and anger driven like you.”
“Y/n, I'm so sorry. I didn't know she was going to say that. We literally weren't even talking about you.” Brittany apologies once the three of us were truly alone in the hallway of Medford High school. She gave me a pouted look not knowing how I was feeling about what had just occurred around us.
Stepping around Georgie I stood beside him, giving her a weak smile knowing as my friend she meant well. Dropping my hands to my sides I forgot about the fact that they were covered in blood from punching somebody. “I know it wasn't your fault. Don't worry about it.” My eyes began watering remembering what Tiffany had said. People in our small Texas school definitely knew I wasn't super girly, I loved food, I knew some basic fighting techniques and didn't like being super emotional about things.
Georgie looks down at my blood-stained hands. “We should get you to the nurse.”
“I'll see you guys later.” Brittany nodded, walking away and leaving the two of us alone.
Releasing a breath I was holding in I slumped my shoulders beginning to feel the weight of everything. Wrapping my arms around myself I could feel my eyes watering heavily with tears for the first time ever. “Woah, hey. Are you alright? What hurts?” Georgie's voice met my ears pulling me from the trance my body was in where my chest tightened and I instantly felt extremely nervous.
“It's - its nothing.”
He moved forward to stand directly in front of me. He placed his hands on my arms, calmly checking for what had me so upset. “Please don't lie to me. I wanna help you but I can't if you lie to me.” His brown eyes focused on my gaze softly which made something in me snap where it just all came out. After years of lying to people about the fact that I didn't like him.
None of it was true. I was deeply in love with the oldest Cooper.
“Tiffany started a rumor saying you'd never date someone like me - and I wish she was wrong- because I am in love with you.”
Clasping my hands over my mouth the minute the last word left my mouth my heart dropped in the pit of my stomach. I swore that I just messed everything up between us. We were friends, not best friends but we were fairly closer than I was with Brittany. Staring bug eyed at Georgie he looked at me so stunned and didn't say anything for nearly ten minutes. Thankfully though he finally gave me a response with a nervous grin on his face.
“Well I don’t know what rumor that would be cause I ain’t heard it. But even if I had that wouldn’t change how I feel about you.” He shrugged his shoulders, sending me a charming smile on his face. “I actually thought it was obvious how I felt about you with how much we were hanging out when we were little. But I started hanging out with other girls cause I thought you weren’t interested in dating me….now I’m thinkin’ will you be my girlfriend?”
Blinking away some happy tears I wrapped my arms around his neck and he quickly pulled me in closer, connecting our lips together in a short kiss till we heard the bell ring meaning we needed to get to our next class. “Yes, I’ll be your girlfriend Georgie.”
