44. Tentative kisses given in the dark, Memir/Bele, obvs ā¤ļø
Better late than never, amirite? <3 <3Ā

Bele doesnāt have nightmares, not really. He meditates for four hours, sees some images that sometimes makes sense to him and sometimes doesnāt, and then heās conscious again.
He opens his eyes to see Vasilka silently watching over the party, and his fear, the part of him thatās been wailing in panic since they entered Barovia, takes the forefront. He closes his eyes and presses the heels of his palms against his face.
He canāt lose it. He canātĀ lose it now.
He hears blankets move as one of his friends turns over in their sleep, and he looks over to make sure it isnāt Memir. Memirās always been restless, and Bele hasnāt caught his composure yet.
His luck is terrible, though, and he can see Memir looking at him, even in the shadowy interior of Churchās homestead.
āGo back to sleep,ā Bele whispers.Ā āIāve got the next two watches anyway.ā
Memir shook his head and sat up, rubbing the back of his neck.Ā āThunder woke me up anyway.ā Yevelda snorts loudly in her sleep, her leg twitching, and Memir smirks.Ā āCouldāve been Yevelda.ā
Bele rises from his seat and looks at Vasilka.Ā āKeep watch a couple more minutes for me?ā Vasilka nods, and Bele sits next to Memirās bedroll, taking Memirās pillow and settling it across his legs.Ā āCāmon. try to get some more sleep.ā Memir stares at Bele for a long minute, and then settles back down, resting his head in Beleās lap.
Bele leans down and brushes a soft, tentative kiss against Memirās forehead. He straightens, but Memir takes hold of his wrist, making Bele freeze in place.
āYou missed.ā Memirās voice is rough, with sleepiness or embarrassment, and he isnāt meeting Beleās eyes. Bele still flushes, the familiar tingle of embarrassment heating his cheeks. He leans down again, pressing one, two more soft kisses against Memirās mouth, and then taps his nose.
āSleep,ā Bele says pointedly, and he hides his smile until Memir actually closes his eyes and listens to him for once.
