when i get back i might completely overhaul myself, or switch up what i’m up to. i’m falling out to the whole anime scene {mayhap the block men are consuming me} but hopefully when i come back i’ll be back on all my bullshit.

We were like 17? At the time. We started practicing at 16, so we were relatively new to this.

Our ex was also a practicing witch or w/e she calls it, so the short of it, we purchase a ouija board and set up on her bed

This was like one of those cheap ass hasbro boards, by the way.

If you've never used one, you can really tell the difference between someone pushing it and something beyond moving it. The planchet kind of glides almost, whereas if someone pushes it, you can feel the surface of the board under the planchet.

So at first we asked like typical questions. Is someone here? Does someone want to communicate?

The planchet at first did nothing. Then when it started to move, and I could tell it was Def not being pushed by my ex, it kept going to "goodbye" we didn't know how to respond to that bc we were excited to have gotten a response so.

We pushed it and kept asking questions and eventually we got a response other than goodbye.

I dont remember the questions exactly (this was 11 years ago) but we eventually end up mentioning that the presence felt male, and it moved to "yes" and We asked if we had met him or encountered him before. Also "yes" so we asked for a name. N-I-C-K my ex and I just kind of looked at each other confused because, the only Nick I knew was very much alive and we didnt know anyone else, until my ex suddenly sits up straight and asked for the initial of Nick's last name. "V" so. Nick V was indeed someone my ex knew and I had just heard stories about. This is my ex's grandfather. He was a notorious abuser, alcoholic, and was incredibly homophobic/transphobic, just the worst.

I decided to be snarky.

I at the time was a very proud lesbian woman (boy has that changed LOL) so I sat up and I asked what he thought about me, considering I was in a gay relationship with his granddaughter.

I lost my fucking mind. I was. I was hatecrimed by a ghost! I laughed until I was crying it was so fucking funny, we ended the session there bc it started to feel funky and we were not about that noise.
