इंडियन कारमेकर महिंद्रा अपने लोकप्रिय एसयूवी स्कॉर्पियो का नया माइल्ड हाइब्रिड सिस्टम से लैस एडिशन उतारने की तैयारी में है। अभी इसमें माइक्रो हाइब्रिड सिस्टम लगा है।
नए हाइब्रिड सिस्टम को ‘Intelli-Hybrid’ से लैस किया गया है, जो कि स्कॉर्पियो के इंजन को चलाते वक्त मदद करने के साथ ही नए स्टार्ट-स्टॉप फीचर को भी सपोर्ट करेगा। मौजूदा माइल्ड हाइब्रिड सिस्टम एसयूवी में केवल स्टार्ट-स्टॉप सिस्टम के लिए ही इस्तेमाल किया जाता है लेकिन इस नई महिंद्रा स्कॉर्पियो में दोनों काम करेगा। ‘Intelli-Hybrid’ सिस्टम का सीधा मतलब है कि नए एसयूवी में बड़़ी बैटरी और इंटीग्रेटेड स्टार्टर मोटर भी लगाया जाएगा। मोटर की हरकतें बैटरी को वैकल्पिक ऊर्जा स्रोत की तरह चार्ज करता रहेगा और यह ड्राइविंग के दौरान इंजन को बूस्ट अप करने में मदद करेगा। यह नया सिस्टम 2.2-litre वैरिएंट के साथ आएगा और यह स्कॉर्पियो से 140बीएचपी की ताकत और 330 न्यूटन मीटर का मैक्सिमम टार्क जेनरेट करवा सकेगा। हालांकि, यह सिस्टम दिल्ली के नज़रिए से किसी काम का नहीं है क्योंकि वहां इन दिनों एंटी पॉल्यूशन ड्राइव ज़ोरों पर है। ऐसे में दिल्ली को ध्यान में रखते हुए महिंद्रा को इस एसूयवी का 1.99-litre डीज़ल इंजन निकालना पड़ सकता है, जो कि अधिकतम 140बीएचपी की ताकत के साथ 320 न्यूटन मीटर का टॉर्क जेनरेट करने में सक्षम होगा।
