have you ever considered analyzing viewer/supporter submitted character designs or do you think that would slip too easily into art critique to be viable?
As in, character designs created by viewers, or just ones from popular culture that they bring to me to look at?
Because the latter, sure, I'll probably do that as livestreams at some point.
But the former is... well, I offer character design feedback on my Patreon, and I'll probably sell it as a non-subscription service at some point, so if anyone wants feedback on their own work, is is technically available, but that kind of thing unfortunately just kinda doesn't work very well as Content™.
As anyone who posts their art online must eventually and bitterly realize, your intricate and well-thought out OC into which you have poured the whole of your heart and dozens of hours, to render them in divine splendor, will never attract one tenth the attention that a half-assed fandom doodle blearily posted at 3am will do.
This extends to doing videos about people's intricate and well-thought out OCs as well. I can market such a video series literally any way I want, the algorithms will take one look at it and say "nothing in here is clickable or relevant to current trends" and they will dump the videos - and quite a lot of my audience won't show up for it even if they do see it surfaced to them either. Because they don't really have that much reason to care about random strangers' OCs, certainly not relative to characters and universes that they are already invested in or participating in fandom for.
And it's fucking bitter. Because frankly I would love to do videos about people's cool OCs, but so long as my rent and my ability to take care of my own depends on those damn youtube numbers...
Well. It is what it is.
