a stimboard for a cozy library children’s section for anon!

My brother gave me this as a Christmas present, also the Judy Garland record playing in the background.  The Wizard Of Oz is one of those old movies I can watch again and again... that's a rarity for me.. in most cases I hate too much repetition, but that movie never fails to make me laugh and cry.  

It was a favourite for my Dad too.  He went to see it when it when it was brand new... he said the excitement that went through the village about this technicolor film coming soon was almost unbearable!!   Just imagine seeing that movie when it came out... the shock of all that superbright colour and wonderful characters and  songs... everyone must have been in a daze at such a jewel of a film!!

This is called a Scanimation book.  I understand the principle of how it works, it's an old animation trick... almost and early version of a gif, but just never seen it in a book before.  I had to create a video, a picture would not have done it justice.  

After I have spent an hour or two on experimentation, I now am looking around for how I can learn to do this properly.

Also, there is a difference between phenakistiscopes, zoopraxiscopes, zoetropes, and scanimation, which I find neat.
