I hardly ever participate in art trends and memes, but I was actually feeling inspired with this one. I ended up having a lot of fun with this. I had to change the dialogue since my style is inherently simple, but I still like how this turned out.

There was a tweet that showed the two images of Pomni from The Amazing Digital Circus seeing her reflection in the mirror from 1st episode and 8th episode. Someone else quote retweeted it saying it would be a fun trend for artists to use that format to compare their sona's old design and their new design. So I decided to give it a try. I’ve never drawn my sona’s original design because I didn’t get into art until after their redesign, so this was a fun challenge.

In 2020 I commissioned an artist from a furry Facebook group named twistedangel7 for my first ref sheet. When I accepted that I was aro ace and nonbinary, I commissioned an artist on Twitter name FiskdiskART for a redesign in 2023. I haven't change it since then because it’s perfect uwu.

When I was new to the fandom, all the dragon sonas and OCs I saw were slim-fit with straight hair, so I designed Ai Laau to reflect that. After I accepted my queerness, saw sonas and OCs with diverse bodies, and met more black furries, I wanted my sona to reflect myself more.
