just an immaculate scallop shell for you to appreciate
Oughh, i haven't posted in a while. My bad, I've been dealing with important stuff.. but here's a thing 🥱
Idk why, but the way Caine's head is drawn in certain art styles by other artists makes me think of Bivalves [clams, oysters, scallops, and mussels]. More specifically, i imagine clams and scallops.
So I drew a silly Caine design nude + wrapped up in seaweed [I began to dooze off on the third image so the blending looks wonky </3]
The specific Bivalve I made him is a rare and vibrant type of scallop endemic to where I live! A Sunrise Shell, also known by its scientific name Langford's Pecten [Decatopecten noduliferum], is a type of small, deep-water scallop. Below is two pictures of the Sunrise Shell :3
I know that scallops can develop pearls [but it's a rare occurrence] and how said scallops have 200+ eyes.. but for funsies, I decided to give him pearl eyes, or rather 'false' eyes. And yes, his head is the size of a regular scallop, 16 mm [which also means his body is small too] so tiny aquatic Caine.
