"Nah?" he pauses for a moment, swallows the lump of nerves building up in his throat that would keep him from speaking — does she remember him? Rationalizes it that if he remembers her then she must, but he vaguely recalls how the other city worked. Some people don't remember. For now, he'll go off the assumption that she does. "Didn't think I'd see ya here. It's… been awhile, hasn't it?"

A short laugh, hand raises to rub the back of his neck. He's having a hard time looking her in the eye, as if he feels guilty for not saying goodbye, or sorry that he had to leave, or anything. Anything would have been better than nothing. "S'good to, though." He gathers the courage to actually look at her directly, looks for any avenue to quickly recover from sounding like such a downer. "It's kinda neat, though, y'know? There's stuff here not in Shizume."

“Hello there! Here, may I help you with that?” though not even a foot taller than she, Ashe could recognize when someone was struggling. It’s quite possible he jumped the gun in this situation, but it was better to ask than to let it be.

“You’d think they’d include some sort of ladder in this library, wouldn’t you? I’m not able to reach everything myself sometimes.”
