Practiced some trumpet again today. When I was playing seriously it was almost every day. If I want to get my embouchure in shape I’m going to need to not go days between practice sessions. It’s very easy to tell that my lips aren’t able to play at any sort of respectable range for the duration I’d like to.Â
Was still fun. Used my Yamaha Silent Brass system since it was kind of late. By the way, holy shit that thing is awesome. The sound reconstruction in the headphones is unquestionably amazing. Practiced the part for my friends arrangement of a song. Had some thoughts on how I might suggest some ornamentation into the jazzier bits of it. I mean, I gotta take some liberty when the arranger’s note says ‘face melting solo’, but tells me to repeat a part 2-4 times.
