my insurance is going to run out by 2018, which means a therapist we've been trusting and liking for 2 1/2 years might not be able to see us anymore. im actually kind of terrified and some of us, mainly the more stubborn alters who were on the edge with this therapist, feel like they dont ever wanna talk to a therapist again. how do i make it easier to talk to a new therapist by next year.i want to be honest about us, but im scared of invalidation by them. our last therapist invalidated us p bad
that happened with us because we had some shit previous alters
unfortunately there’s no shortcut for trust. even if you just have to get one functional alter going to therapy
also it’s super important to get a therapist that actually has experience with DID or at least extreme trauma situations. that will help the system calm down 50%
getting your “Main” functional alter to go do therapy for a long time will naturally build up the trust in the system. there’s going to be backlash. you’re going to have to deal with alters not wanting to go to therapy into forever, but so long as you have one alter forcing therapy, it will eventually calm down
