It had been a hard day's work, rounding up the escaped horses and mending the fence. He might heal quicker than most, but Harvey's muscles were still mighty sore. He knew nothing better than to let almost scalding hot water ease the tension out of his back, neck and shoulders with the shower's massage jet, head bowed and eyes closed in pure bliss.
He opened his eyes and turned around when he heard and felt Valeriou slip in behind him, a surprised look on his face. He had certainly not expected the fae to join him. The look of surprise soon turned into a warm smile. "Hey, you. Is this an attempt to hit on me, or did you just not want to shower alone?"
Communal bathing was extremely common among the Dokkalfar, the perfect way to bond for creatures very preoccupied with preening and grooming themselves to always look their best. Valeriu in particular missed the shared baths with his close companions, from political allies to friends to lovers.
So Valeriu saw little issue with jumping up the moment he heard the creaking of the pipes in the walls, water running, and decided to join his newfound companion. Vali pushed the door to the washroom open and closed it quietly behind him, as to not let the thick warm air escape.
He silently slipped out of the clothes provided to him, and stepped into the shower. He didn’t really consider that this act of intimacy may be a bridge too far from what was usually considered ‘normal’ upon this planet. Judging by the look of surprise upon Harvey’s face, maybe people didn’t bathe together as often as Dokkalfar did? Luckily, Harvey didn’t seem to mind. His face burned a ruddy hue.
“Oh, uh, well - my kind sometimes, often actually, bathe together,” Vali explained. He cast his gaze downward and to the side, trying not to be too obvious in his assessment of Harvey’s anatomy. He wanted to reach out and touch, and be touched in turn, but he knew better than to be so forward, so quickly. “And maybe I also was curious. Afterall, you’ve seen me naked a grand total of two times now, its only fair I get to see you too.” He would happily leave if Harvey told him too. Well, maybe not happily, but without any argument.
