This 2000 ft wall, built in 1653, gave Wall St. its name. First it was “palisade” style with logs put in 3 ft holes, then the less expensive planks. Illustrations and animations by Docema (Parnell’s Fire movie) are in Special Exhibition: Firefighting and the American Revolution at nycfiremuseum.org. and on site savingny.com. 3/15 opening offers artbook for first 1000 visitors. 3/21 panel combines updated info on the fire’s origins and how it was fought.
