printing in colour? think about it.
CDNIS has 2,100 printer users. The school printed 74,000 sheets of coloured paper in 2013. Equivalent to 27% of all the paper printed in total.
HKIS has 3,000 printer users and yet they've only printed 24,253 sheets of paper in 2013. That was equal to a whopping 4% of the total they've printed during that year.
Printing in colour wastes extra ink pigment as well as wasting money because doing so is expensive. It is unnecessary to print in colour when you can just print it black and white.
The reason? CDNIS is allowing their students their own print card so they can print what they want, whatever they want.
In HKIS, they students at their school requires consent from a teacher just to print in colour. I believe that if this rule was enforced in our school, the colour prints would drop dramatically.
