We are watching the world scream for help. There is so much more that we could be doing. The town I live in was offered a deal to have 800 oyster beds planted around the Max Brewer bridge. If you understand, a SINGLE oyster can clean 50 GALLONS of water a day. Our city said...NO. You read that right. They. Said. NO. To a positive change that they didn't have to pay for. Meanwhile I have witnessed deceased, dying, and injured manatee as well as countless other wildlife surrounding my home and work due to the carelessness of not only the city but from the residents within it. We HAVE to do better. Does anyone know how we can change this negative vote for these oyster beds to help our Indian River Lagoon and in return breathe life back into our waters? It is past time.
