With the Diamond Shut down and comics shop close Temporary, perhaps the industry should take this moment to look at itself. Perhaps catch up on some deadline? Create a stock of books so we aren't running ourselves to death to get projects done? How close to the deadline have we all been working? Publishers can get a jump on production and finally catch up. I see many of them are making the books returnables, I'm sure there are other plans I'm only now finding them and have to catch up with what them. Comic shops can use this time to do inventory, brainstorm ideas for when they open back up events sales, a "welcome back Comic book event day" People are going to have cabin fever and want to things to read even if it's not the new books but books that might have been sitting in the store for a while bundle those items together. Good books that just haven't moved for a while. Artists not only catch up on work but getting the new inventory ready for cons, working on all those pinups and sketches that they always wanted to do maybe dig out that creator own project you had sitting there in the back burner for way too long? Reach out to local comic shops find out what opening days plans you be a part of, think of events that are like Free comic book day. Independent publishers/ creators, there will be a gap between now and before the new books can make it to the comic shops weeks to months, the shops need to stay open perhaps your inventory might be able to fill that void, people can discover your books, your local comic shop will need to have something new to show when they do open up. The industry as a whole is going to take a hit, Comics won'tdie, it will do what it always has done, change. We need to change with it. Some of these ideas may work some might not at all. I don't have the answers but let's start talking we need to also get the fans involved they need to know we are here to stay and there may come a time for them to help us get those fans who left years ago as well as the new ones we desperately need. - Wilson Ramos Jr- Please share #comicbooks #comics #comicbookindustry #savecomicshops #comicshops (at New York, New York) https://www.instagram.com/p/B-H5p4DBjqJ/?igshid=9msrz7r1q7qv
