VakifBank Instabul, Rexona-SESC Rio, Volero Zurich and Eczacibasi VitrA Istanbul established their places in the FIVB Volleyball Women’s Club World Championship Kobe 2017 semifinals
VakifBank preserved their unbeaten record in the tournament after they completed their sweep of host club Hisamitsu Springs 3-0 (25-17, 25-21, 25-22).
Rexona-SESC Rio claimed the available semifinal spot in Pool A, when they defeated Dinamo Moscow in the tight 3-1 (25-23, 23-25, 25-23, 25-23) contest.
Volero Zurich reigned in Pool A after their sweep of Brazilian club Osasco Voleibol Clube 3-0 (27-25, 25-22, 25-18). The Swiss club is showing great consistency, without dropping any sets in the preliminary round.
Eczacibasi Istanbul got the last spot in the semifinals draw. Eczacibasi are still in the running to achieve a three-peat in the Women’s Club World Championship. They started their campaign this year with a loss to Volero Zurich, but came back with a 3-1 win over Osasco Voleibol Clube on the second day and a 3-0 (25-22, 25-22, 25-16) win over NEC Red Rockets.
