continued from this ask
Itâs hard to forget that dayâas much as she wants to forget, itâs unfortunately burned into her memory, her dreams, her nightmares, everything. She didnât even get a chance to see Big Band the day he rescued her, only knowing that he had a booming, brass tone. Even while she was stuck in the lab, Patricia could tell his voice apart from the countless others, deliberately searching for it at times. Relying on everyone to guide her was all she could do, losing all agency of her own.
She hated it. All Patricia wanted was her life back, but even being young she knew that would be impossible. At the same time, she wouldnât accept her fate if she had no reason to. Succumbing to her injuries would be the worst thing she could do for herself, and there wasnât a whole lot she could do without limbs...
... That is, until the doc gave her some. With multiple eyes, to boot! It practically felt like Christmas. She felt like a whole new person, a new personality. Patricia was goneâonly Peacock remained now, ready and willing to be one of those Anti-Skullgirls Soldiers that sheâs secretly admired since her rescue. Patricia wouldnât make a name for herself in her state. She was just another refugee, a victim, a statistic. Peacock gets shit done. Peacock is armed, Peacock is deadly.
The BB gun in her oversized gloved hands isnât the same at all. Itâs times like this where she misses the feeling of knowing sheâs dangerous to anyone that messes with her. When Big Band answers her, she looks up at him, grinning slightly.
âIcarus or somethinâ, right?â So she does pay attention to some of the things she hears about after all. âDonât get burned? Ha. It ainât gonna be like that, Big Brass.â
âIf havinâ my wings ripped off tâbegin with didnât stop me, nothing will.â
